Leadership of the Future: Strength vs. Wisdom

Talk about leadership, about making difficult decisions, communicating them, about failure and success, about the power of wisdom. Behind every success lies the right plan and approach, but success is a collective effort and result. It is important to set meaningful priorities that positively change people's lives and achieve results on them, to add value and build on, not to ruin, to uphold principles, not interests. Peace and sustainable development are paramount. Today it takes political wisdom and courage to resist the populist actions of leaders who undermine the foundations and institutions of the international order. The battle today is between democrats and populists, between patriots and nationalists. Many leaders today demonstrate strength and pretend to be strong, but they are not wise because they seek short-term benefits at the expense of long-term weakening of democratic institutions and rules.
