BILLA Bulgaria is the first international supermarket chain to enter the Bulgarian market in 2000. The chain currently has 149 stores in 47 cities across the country. The company continues to develop its retail network of supermarkets and provide its customers with the quality and fresh meat, bread, fruits and vegetables, delicacies and everything necessary for everyday shopping at good prices, meeting the individual capabilities of each customer.
According to data from an independent survey by the Swiss organization ICERTIAS, Bulgarian consumers identify BILLA Bulgaria as the leader in the categories “Department for fresh fruits and vegetables in a supermarket chain”, “Department for fresh meat in a supermarket chain”, “Loyalty program”.
BILLA Bulgaria successfully stimulates the development of Bulgarian production, partnering with more than 40 Bulgarian producers — supplying a rich variety of seasonal fruits and vegetables from over 180 vegetable gardens, greenhouses and vineyards throughout Bulgaria. In 2018, the long-term program to reduce pesticides in fruits and vegetables under the own brand “BILLA Gardens” was launched, on the basis of which the presence of residual pesticides in the products that reach the final consumer is controlled.
