Rumyana is 22 years old from the city of Smolyan. A student at the University of Surrey in the UK with a degree in Business Management, she has lived on the Island since 2018. He has experience in the field of marketing. During her student years, she attended a student exchange in Spain, an internship in a telecommunications company as part of the Professional Training Year, worked for the university and volunteered in numerous initiatives.Rumyana is the first Gold winner of the Duke of Edinburgh Award in Bulgaria, as well as the President of the Alumni Society of the Foundation. At the end of 2021, she was recognized by the International Prize Foundation as one of the 100 most inspiring volunteers for the Prize in the world. Last year she participated in the first edition of the Talent of the Year competition and won the award in the category Marketing, Advertising and PR. Her passion is travel — she likes to get to know new cultures, people, places. Thanks to this interest, she has experience with youth exchanges and projects in different EU countries.
The English language is an essential tool for communication worldwide. In the lecture, Rumyana will discuss the benefits of studying it. Through statistics and personal examples, the main advantages and opportunities that the English language provides in different periods of personal and professional development - school, university and career path will be highlighted.
