About the lecturer

Elenko has 10 years of experience as a project manager in a Bulgarian-Anglo-American software company and generally knows the difference between Java and JavaScript. Previously, he worked in the web department of Economedia and they created the first mobile site in Bulgaria in 2007 (Dnevnik), when the first iPhone was released. He has been running the NGO Sport Club Begac for 3 years, being its president for more than 10 years and in a non-plague year they organize more than 15 running competitions, in which more than 6000 people participate. With Vladimir “Kaladan” Petkov - another legend in the Bulgarian web and currently the CTO (sic) of a company with nearly 500 people, they make a network of podcasts, with the most famous one going through 200,000 listenings a year, and the other - den.fm listened to 1000+ people every day.

In-depth content in surface times

Podcasts are an old form of expression that is experiencing a renaissance and is becoming increasingly popular since 2017 in Bulgaria. The reason is that we are tired of banners, tweets, mementos and statuses and we want a thorough analysis of the things around us. Podcasts are such a medium that they allow for the development of a theme, interesting voices and “engagement” far beyond the simple click. Advertising there also passes, but there is something to brag about. Elenko will tell what turned him on to make a podcast, what motivated him in the first 6 months without any listeners and what society of people he has at the moment.
