Prof. Antoaneta Hristova is a political psychologist with a focus on political image formation, political speech, crisis management, decision-making processes, political leadership. She graduated from Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski” majoring in Psychology and received a PhD at the Institute of Psychology at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. She specialized in client-centered therapy in Lausanne, Switzerland and political psychology at Ohio University, USA.

Psychological Research, Director of the Institute for Population and Human Studies at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, Chairman of the Board of the Institute of Policy, currently Head of the Department of Psychology at the Institute for Population and Human Studies at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. Member of the board of the European Society of Symbolic Interactionism (ESSI), member of the International Society of Political Psychology (ISPP) and member of the management of the Society of Psychologists in Bulgaria.He leads projects such as: “Stress and coping with it in conditions of spreading coronavirus infection”, “Development of policies aimed at Bulgarians in Abroad”, “Measures to Overcome the Demographic Crisis in the Republic of Bulgaria”, participates as a researcher in projects such as “Psychological determinants of attitudes towards emigration and life planning in young people, in the context of the demographic challenge in Bulgaria”, “Study of the manifestations of aggression and violence at school — forms, factors and motives”, “Creation of a methodology for the study of social representations towards public leaders”, etc.
