Alexander Andreev has been an editor at Deutsche Welle (Bulgaria) since 1991, and since 2008 he has been editor-in-chief. His career began in 1979 in the Bulgarian National Radio. His articles have appeared in numerous publications in Belgium, the Netherlands, Great Britain, Austria, Singapore and Germany (“Die Zeit”, “Die Welt”, “Tagesseitung”, “Frankfurt Roundschau”), as well as in a number of international parliaments. He collaborates with radio and television stations in Germany and Bulgaria.
Columnist of the newspaper “Dnevnik”. He was a member of the Board of the European Academy for the Study of Life, Integration and Civil Society EALIZ (Austria), a member of the European Translation College in Straelen (Germany), the Union of Journalists in Germany and Reporters Without Borders. He is the author of the fiction books “Degrees of Freedom” (1986) and “New Degrees of Freedom” (1999; 2001) and the documentary “The Conspiracy of Spies” (1999). The novel “New Degrees of Freedom” is considered one of the great literary events of the decade.
